The perception in the Middle East and the Arab World is that the United States of America, supposed leader of the free world and international superstar, is becoming weaker according to Avi Gil who is a senior fellow at the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute, who also said that America no longer leads as it once did but now follows or leads from behind.  The United States has called for Israel to withdraw from land that is Biblically, historically, and strategically essential for the very existence of the Jewish state among the Arab-Islamic nations in the Middle East which would put the Jewish state in harm's way.

With America's superpower status in decline and the rising power of the radical Arab Islamic world, we can now see better the end of times scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy. 

The America that we knew 10 to 15 years ago is no longer at the peak of the pedestal as a world superpower and even the Arab Moslem world recognizes this as the case for America politically and economically.  Much of the way that Israel is perceived is directly dependent upon its relationship with America.  This report begs the question, where is the United States in Bible prophecy?  Is it a superpower in the last days or not there at all? 

The United States is not mentioned by name anywhere in Bible prophecy but it seems to refer to the United States and in fact all nations in Zechariah 14:2 when the ancient Jewish prophet wrote that at the end of the seven year Tribulation period, all nations will gather in Jerusalem.  But before that, the superpower will be the Antichrist, the world dictator who will control a one world economic, political, and governmental system from Babylon in modern-day Iraq.  This is foretold in Revelation 18.  Under the leadership of Satan, Antichrist, and the False Prophet, this massive body of people will confront Jesus Christ as He returns to the Mount of Olives and then after the Battle of Armageddon, goes into the Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem to set up His kingdom (Zechariah 6:12-13). 

Perception has become fact as America continues to decline in leadership and character in our world today.  The prophecies of God's Word will indeed be fulfilled.

Thank the Lord for Tim Tebow

I have been watching this young man play football back in the days when he was the championship and Heisman trophy quarterback for the Florida Gators. While you all know that Pam and I (especially Pam) are radical Alabama fans, we found that when Tim was playing we were always “Rooting him on!”  The reason is he is our brother. No, not in the flesh, but our brother by the Spirit – meaning he is a true born-again Christian and a very bold spokesman for Christ. It is virtually impossible to not have a desire to see such a man rise to the top of his game, as the Lord will receive glory for the blessings bestowed for the gift and ability of playing the game.

            Tim now plays for the Denver Broncos, and is an outstanding young quarterback in his own rights. In his college days, he was noted for wearing a black John 3:16 Scripture under his eyes. When Tim did this, often the most requested search engine was for John 3:16, and many un-churched people had no clue to who John was and why John was 3:16! When Tim would score a touchdown or win a game he would often drop to one knee, bow his head, placing his elbow on his knee and his fist towards his head as though resting for a moment. In reality he was giving thanks. This became known as “Tebowing!” It caught on among Christian youth playing sports, especially football.

Maybe we need a lot more Tebows to speak up as the world will listen to them, long before they will listen to another preacher!

            Of course there were the critics, the old armchair quarterbacks who thought religion and prayer had no place on the sports field. Image their shock when after winning in overtime against Pittsburgh this year, the stats came out concerning Tim’s game that day. That day he totaled 316 yards passing, with an average of 31.6 yards per pass. At the peak of the overtime there was said to be 31.6 million people watching the game!  Hummm sound like a sign that someone upstairs really likes this brother!

            There were some Christians complaining that Tim wears his religion on his sleeve and should not do that.  I heard the same complaint from a liberal talking head on the news network, who was outraged with a recent political candidate (from another party of course) who had ministers laying their hands on him praying. This man barked, “I am a Christian to but I am one in private. We must quit wearing out religion on our shoulder in public.”  I learned years ago that if Bill Clinton said Jesus in public, it was greeted by liberals with approval, but if George Bush mentioned Jesus, he was a religious fanatic.  If Obama says I’m a Christian, everyone around him nods and smiles with pleasure. However, if the other side says they are, then the left will scream out, “They they are using their Christianity to influence votes.”                                                                                   

            For those who have this non-Biblical impression that our faith should be quiet and reserved for the four walls of the church or a home bible study, may I remind you that Christ himself said that if we deny him before men, he would deny us before the father in heaven and if we testified before men, he would testify of knowing us before his father in heaven (Luke 12:8-9). Sounds to me like the angels probably know Tim Tebow far better than the liberal talking head that isn’t interested in anyone knowing what he believes. Maybe we need a lot more Tebows to speak up as the world will listen to them, long before they will listen to another preacher!  Keep preaching your way Tim!

Leaders and clerics in the Moslem Brotherhood are calling for their followers to prepare for war against Israel and one leading brotherhood cleric has called for killing Jews to the very last one. This is the brotherhood that has played a major role in the chaos in the Arab capitals of the Middle East. As the Moslem Brotherhood rises to power in the Middle East, Israeli leaders see this as consolidating the power of Hamas and its hold on Gaza, a real concern to the Jewish state because the Hamas charter states unequivocally that it wants to eradicate Israel. This same Moslem Brotherhood preacher in a sermon aired on Al Jazeera claimed that Adolf Hitler was sent by Allah to punish the Jewish people. The brotherhood also supports Hamas, the Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah, all Islamic terror groups who want to eradicate this world of the Jews. The scenario being played out now in the Arab world was foretold by the ancient Jewish prophets, a message for the last days. Daniel and Ezekiel both revealed that the Arab world would come to power and move to kill the Jews, Daniel 11 and Ezekiel 38. The prophet Joel said this would happen when every Moslem would be ready to form the largest militia ever formed on the earth, Joel 2. Even the Psalmist prophet, Psalm 83 called for the Jews to be destroyed and their name be forgotten forever, Psalm 83:4. The rise to power of the Moslem Brotherhood and their impact on Middle East events is indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Resurrection: Our New Body

What a scene will occur at the sounding of the Lord’s trumpet! The “dead in Christ” will emerge from their resting places all over the earth and soar into the sky; these saints’ resurrected bodies will reunite with their spirits, which will have been residing in heaven with Jesus. Close behind them will follow believers who haven’t yet departed this life—at that moment, they’ll miraculously be changed as they are “caught up . . . to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thess. 4:16-17).
The description sounds extraordinary, but in fact, the plan is practical. We’re going to need a body with which to enjoy the new heaven and new earth that Jesus is preparing for His followers. However, earthly flesh and bones will not do. They age, break, and succumb to sin. So God promised to transform our humble structures into glorious bodies like the one Christ had after His resurrection. Common temptations and limitations will be gone. In addition, our physical substance will be altered so that we are not restricted by time and space. Remember, Jesus didn’t bother with doors (John 20:19)! Our new bodies will be suited for the environment where we are to dwell forever—an ageless eternity in which all of our needs are perfectly met.
Each believer will still be him- or herself. Friends and family long separated will recognize one another; our personalities will be unchanged, except that we’ll be absolutely sinless. At last, you and I will be the persons that God intends for us to be. And we’ll be housed in a body fashioned like that of Christ—perfect, sinless, and complete.

Six arrested at White House today for praying on sidewalk

February 16, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Six pro-life activists, including one Catholic priest, were arrested this morning in front of the White House while holding a peaceful prayer vigil in protest against the Obama administration's birth control mandate. They were released shortly thereafter, after paying a $100 fine.

Fr. Denis Wilde, the Associate Director of Priests for Life, told LifeSiteNews that by their arrests the protesters hoped to send a "wake-up call" to President Obama that opposition to his mandate is not going away.

The six were arrested on a charge of "disobeying a lawful order." The priest explained that while it is legal to hold protests in front of the White House, protesters are not allowed to remain stationary, including if they kneel down and pray.

"Occupy Wall Street protesters have been occupying federal property for months, but when we kneel in prayer, the police are called in and we are arrested," Father Wilde said. "We knew that was the risk when we gathered today, and we will do it again regardless of the risk. What people of faith - of every faith - need to do now is stand with us."

In addition to Fr. Wilde those arrested were Jeff White and his teenage daughters Joanna and Jayne White of Survivors, Rev. Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, and a local pro-lifer named John Randy Corish.

Fr. Frank Pavone, the head of Priests for Life, told LifeSiteNews.com: "The men arrested today, including our Associate Director, reveal the fact that the response to the unjust Obama mandate cannot be limited to the Courts, the Congress, and the press. It must bring us to the streets of America."

In reality, the other side should be afraid precisely because we are humble, peaceful, and prayerful, because therein lies the force that uproots injustice from society."

Is Damascus, Syria Destined to be Destroyed Soon?

Since the early 1990s, I have been honored to participate in the God’s News Behind the News Prophetic Conference, joining with some of the most informed prophetic writers, speakers and television hosts in the world. For many years now, the speakers at the conference have participated in a two to four hour open panel discussion, answering questions and making comments revolving around the times and seasons and what they see in the distant future for the church, for America and the world.

                Especially since 9-11, there has been a renewed interest in an ancient prediction recorded by Isaiah the prophet concerning Damascus. The prophecy reads, “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap” (Isa. 17:1). As often pointed out, there is no time in previous history when Damascus was completely destroyed and became a pile and a heap. The area was always an oasis and was a noted spot for nomadic tribes traveling with roving bands with their flocks. During one invasion, the trees were cut down in the region, however the city of Damascus is noted as one of the oldest continually inhabited cities on earth.

Especially since 9-11, there has been a renewed interest in an ancient prediction recorded by Isaiah the prophet concerning Damascus.

                Why would this city be destroyed in the near future? First, there is a major uprising occurring within Syria as the common people in several cities are demanding the removal of their dictator-type leader, Assad. The removal of the Egyptian and Libyan leaders was swift; however Assad refuses to budge and not only has a loyal army but has recently enjoyed the support of 15,000 high level Iranian soldiers. The defiant leader has also killed over 8,000 of his people and has an arsenal of biological and chemical weapons at his disposal. It is believed that the components and various types of chemical agents that belonged to Saddam Hussein, the former President of Iraq, are stored in two underground military facilities in Syria and Israel is certain that Assad has chemical tipped warheads on certain missiles.

                It was recently reported that Assad had over 21 missiles pointed toward Turkey and several towards Israel, and that six of these missiles were tipped with deadly chemical agents. Turkey has already warned Syria that if these missiles are sent into Turkey or near the border areas, that Turkey will initiate an all out war with Assad and his regime. Israel has also warned Assad that any missile of any type sent into Israel will be met with swift retaliation. Assad’s military commanders have also been informed that if any missile enters Israel tipped with deadly nerve agents or biological and chemical agents of death, Damascus will be destroyed!

                It has been noted that in the prophecy of the war of Gog of Magog in Ezekiel 38 and 38, Syria is missing from the list of nations that form an (Islamic) coalition and move like a violent storm cloud over the mountains of Israel. It just may be that the destruction of Damascus – a city that houses an estimated 10,000 terrorists and is friends with the radical government in Iran – will serve as the trigger for the predicted Islamic coalition to make its move upon Israel in the future, as retaliation for a war that occurred prior to the war of Ezekiel 38.  Stay tuned. Things are really about to get interesting!

Romans 5:6-11
Scripture tells us that love is the very essence of who God is (1 John 4:7). So if you don't believe that He loves you unconditionally, you'll never really know Him or have genuine peace about your relationship with Him.
How do you define "love"? It is Jesus unselfishly reaching out to mankind, giving Himself to us and bringing good into our life regardless of whether or not we accept Him. Romans 5:8 tells us that His care and concern are so immeasurable that He laid down His life for us while we were still His enemies. In fact, the Bible says that He first began to express His love toward us before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:3-5). That means your actions had absolutely nothing to do with His love for you!
God's commitment to us has absolutely no conditions or restrictions and isn't based on whether we love Him back. Nor does He have more love for "good" people who may strike us as more worthy. He loves us even in our sin, even when we don't repent. Does that give us license to disobey? No. It gives us power to live holy lives, walk obediently with Him, and learn to love Him the way He deserves. To follow Him is to receive the love He has been offering all along.
Every single moment, whether awake or asleep, we all live under the canopy of the Lord's wondrous, absolute love for us. But to fully experience that love, you must receive it. Say yes to this amazing gift that God wants to pour out on you. Bask in it, and let it overflow to those around you.

The Islamic terror organization of al Qaeda says that all Middle Eastern Christians are legitimate targets

Christians across the Middle East have been put on notice by the Islamic state of Iraq, better known as the Iraqi branch of the international branch of the international Islamic terror organization al Qaeda, that all Christians in the Middle East are now legitimate targets. The ministry of war of the Islamic state of Iraq declares that all centers, organizations, and bodies of Christian leaders and followers have become targets wherever their hands can reach them.

The terrorist leaders said that the doors of destruction are open and that Christian blood will flow like a river in the Middle East.

The threat by Islamic terrorists to kill Christians in the Middle East is a page out of Bible prophecy for the last days.

Recently in Baghdad, Iraq a group of Islamic militants entered a church and killed over 60 church goers after they held them hostage for a number of hours. Soon after this horrific attack the Islamic Republic of Iraq, a branch of al Qaeda, declared that all Christians in the Middle East are legitimate targets and their blood will flow like a river. This declaration by Islamic militants on the Middle Eastern Christian community is that page of Bible prophecy that can be found in a number of prophetic passages.

Though true born again Christians will depart the world at the Rapture of the Church there will be many others that will become believers, followers of Jesus Christ in the seven year Tribulation period (Revelation 7:9, I Thessalonians 4:13-18). During the Tribulation period these new believers in Jesus Christ will be martyred because of their faith (Revelation 6:9-11). John the Revelator wrote of the Tribulation saints that will be killed, many of them beheaded, for their witness for Jesus and for the Word of God (Revelation 20:4-6).

CNN Fires Entire Jewish Staff Of Israel Bureau – And Retains Only Arab Reporters

It is likely to provoke a wave of shock and indignation within the North American media industry, and it certainly will not calm down the controversy over the pro-palestinian CNN treatment of the conflict.

We learned today that the Israeli branch of CNN, located in Jerusalem, is downsizing to cope with reduced income from less advertising.

What goes beyond good management is that CNN has fired four Israeli Jewish journalists (out of a crew of 8), and has retained only Arab journalists. Where, until now, CNN always sent a Jewish and an Arab journalist to cover information, now there will be only an Arab journalist. The local chief editor of the News Chanel is now Arabic.

This is a conflict where information is central to public opinion, and it weighs a lot on diplomatic decisions. Furthermore, it is no secret that Arab journalists cannot freely publish what they want without risking for their own lives when traveling to Gaza, East Jerusalem, and Judea Samaria. Thus, CNN decision to fire all Jewish journalists from its Jerusalem office is of particular concern, because the general public is unaware that they will be receiving biased information from CNN.

Iran's president believes that the Mahdi, the Moslem Messiah, is coming very soon

Iranian President Ahmadinejad is a Shiite Moslem that believes that the Mahdi, the Moslem Messiah, is coming into this world very soon and that Messiah will be the twelfth Imam who comes as the final Imam and the savior of the world.  Ahmadinejad believes that he is the forerunner of the Mahdi, the twelfth Imam, and the Moslem Messiah will come to this earth following a catastrophic event, and event like a nuclear attack on the Jewish state of Israel.

Islamic eschatology states that the Mahdi, the Moslem Messiah, is coming and it could be very soon which has an interesting correlation with the soon coming of the true Messiah as foretold in Bible prophecy. 

The Islamic faith has an eschatology, that's the study of the end times, and this eschatology has the Moslem Messiah, the Mahdi, appearing on the world scene to be the final savior of mankind.  The Shiite Moslems believe that the twelfth Imam gone from this world for hundreds of years will reappear and come out of Iran.  The Iranian President Ahmadinejad believes that he is the forerunner of the Mahdi and if he can cause a catastrophic event to happen, like a nuclear attack on Israel, that the Mahdi will appear and in fact will appear in the very near future.

About 85% of the entire Shiite Moslem world agrees with Ahmadinejad and they believe the Moslem Messiah will come to this world to set the world in order for the caliphate.  Now the caliphate is a worldwide Islamic kingdom which will also be put in place by the Mahdi. 

The ancient Jewish prophets, the true spokesmen for the true God of the Bible wrote how this would all play out.  Zechariah wrote of the return of Jesus Christ, the true Messiah, to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:4).  John wrote in Revelation 19 that this Messiah would return after the seven year Tribulation period where judgment will have been unleashed on the earth and earthdwellers.  When Jesus returns He will build a temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem where He will rule and reign forever (Zechariah 1:16, Zechariah 6:12-13). 

Moslem eschatology has the Mahdi, the Moslem Messiah, coming back in the near future.  But the truth be known, the true Messiah Jesus Christ will come in the near future.  Bible prophecy will be fulfilled

One of the world's largest oil companies may bring down the very unstable war torn national government of Iraq

Exxon Mobil, one of the world's largest oil companies, has challenged Iraq's Prime Minister Maliki as the political leader of war torn Iraq, works to stop the growing regional separatism of his nation as it relates to the central government's control over territory and the oil rights of the different regions of Iraq. Iraqi Kurdistan, the oil rich region of Iraq, has signed an agreement with Exxon Mobil for billions of barrels of oil which could jeopardize Maliki's central government's authority and bring down the fragile power sharing coalition in Baghdad. 

The stability of Iraq's coalition government made up of Sunni Moslems, Shiites, and the Kurds is at risk of breaking up over the control of Iraq's greatest natural resource, oil.

The battle over the oil rights of war torn Iraq is setting the stage for a scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy for the last days. 

It has been known for a long time that the rebuilding of war torn Iraq would be paid for by the agreements for the oil rights to the massive oil fields in Iraq. Petroleum experts say that today's greatest source of oil can be found under the ground of this battlefield in the Middle East. Iraq's Prime Minister Maliki is doing a balancing act as he tries to stabilize his national coalition government but at the same time, reap the benefits for the sale of the oil rights across all of Iraq. Some say that Prime Minister Maliki is not up to the task of rebuilding his nation and making Iraq an economic powerhouse in this oil rich region of the world. 

The prophetic scenario found in Bible prophecy foretells of an appearance of a strong man who will bring Iraq to the economic center of the world. John, the writer of the book of Revelation, reveals the appearance of the Antichrist, that strong man, who will in fact head up the economic power base in Babylon which is modern-day Iraq (Revelation 13 and 18). Jeremiah and Isaiah see the rise of Babylon, today's Iraq, as the precursor to the return of Jesus Christ (Isaiah 13,14 and Jeremiah 50, 51.). Revelation 16:17-21 predicts the total destruction of Iraq which is Biblical Babylon, this oil rich nation that will come to power in the last days. Bible prophecy will indeed be fulfilled.

When we choose to cooperate with God and submit to His way, He will do amazing things in and through us.
