The White House is calling for resumption of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks

The White House has renewed its call for the resumption of the long stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace talks in light of another four years for the Obama administration and light of the new complexion and makeup of the Israeli government.

Israel is willing to resume the peace talks but only with no preconditions and the Palestinians want Jerusalem for its capital, the Palestinian refugees having a right of return, and no Jewish settlements, now these preconditions are a no starter for Israel which basically means no resumption of these peace talks.

A call by the White House for the resumption of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks is a precursor to the end of times scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy.

In his first term, US President Obama failed to advance the peace negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Israel has been willing to come back to the negotiating table but the Palestinians have refused unless they have some decisions being made before they even start the process. The Palestinians want a return to the 1967 borders, they want the right of return for Palestinian refugees, and they want Jerusalem as the capital of their state of Palestine. These preconditions are a no-starter for the Israeli government, thus these stalled Palestinian talks are dead in the water.

The ancient Jewish prophets said the Palestinians, the Edomites, descendants of Esau in biblical times, would come back to power in the last days foretells that the Palestinians will rebuild, however the Lord says the Palestinian borders will actually be the borders of wickedness. Ezekiel reveals that the people of Mount Seir, the Palestinian people today, would rise up, kill the Jews and take the land that God has given to the Jewish people, Ezekiel 35:5, 10. Obadiah foretold of a time when the Palestinians would control the holy mountain of God, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, and these Palestinians would claim this sacred site for themselves, Obadiah 15-18. Daniel 9:27 says that indeed the Antichrist will establish a pseudo peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

A White House call for peace does indeed set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

'The Hal Lindsey Report'

In the 1970s and 1980s, I led many tours to Israel. Back then, I would take my fellow travelers up to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. We carried our Bibles as well as our cameras. We would see Jews wandering freely among the trees and buildings on the Mount. I would seek out a secluded part of the 35 acre plateau, away from the mosques, and we would have an impromptu Bible study. We would all hold hands and pray. It was always a special time for the members of the tour to be able to stand in a place that held such meaning for our spiritual heritage. 

Beginning in the 1990s, that all changed. As the Muslims were given greater control of the Temple Mount, they pushed for even more. By mid-decade, I had been arrested three times during my visits to the Mount. Twice for carrying a Bible and once for holding my daughter's hand. 

Today, non-Muslims visiting the Temple Mount grounds are shadowed by Muslim "officials." You can't even appear to "pray" without facing arrest. Muttering under your breath is dangerous. 

Recently, a member of the Israeli Knesset (Israel's parliament) told a reporter that she was considering a visit to the Temple Mount. MK Miri Regev wants to draw the public's attention to the fact that it's "illegal" for a Jew to pray while on the Temple Mount. She said, "I don't understand why a Jew is not allowed to pray in the most sacred place for him -- the Temple Mount." 

Well, that statement has caused somewhat of a panic. She even has one of her fellow MK's cautioning that merely mentioning the subject may ignite a "third intifada." 

If you remember, Ariel Sharon touched off the extremely violent "second intifada" in 2000 when he visited the Temple Mount. He, too, was a Member of the Knesset and had made all the proper arrangements and secured the proper permissions. But the mere presence of a prominent Jew on the Mount sent the Palestinians into a frenzy. 

Of course, now we know that Sharon's visit was merely an excuse to begin a pre-planned campaign of violence against Israel. A campaign that was waged to force the world to force Israel to cede even more control of the area and of Jerusalem to the PLO. 

But that's the point: everything is intended to give the Muslims more control. If you're an American of any vintage, you know the saying: "Give them an inch and they'll take a mile." I don't know for sure, but I don't think that adage was coined to describe Islam. However, it does. Perfectly. 

Have you noticed that there is no other religion, ethnic group, or national group (with the possible exception of the homosexual community) that evokes more "walking on eggshells" than does Islam and Muslims? Entire governments are terrified to utter those two words -- Islam or Muslim -- for fear of saying something "offensive" to them. And what happens when you "offend" Islam? Well, you may die! Or your neighborhood, city, or nation may be thrust into violent confrontation. If you're lucky, there will only be aggressive and vulgar protests. If not, your whole neighborhood may be burned to the ground. 

I'm just thankful that Islam is a "religion of peace." At least that's what Muslims say and all of our living past presidents and our current Administration agree. So it must be true. And if you disagree, don't do so publicly or you'll be sorry. Just ask Paris or London or Madrid or New York or Mumbai or Fort Hood or non-Muslims in Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, and, now, Boston. 

God help you if you're a Jew or Christian caught in an Islamic nation. The "religion of peace" wants a piece of you. Just ask Pastors Saeed Abedini or Yusef Nadarkhani, both languishing in Iranian prisons because they refuse to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ. 

I am genuinely grateful that our fear of Islam hasn't quite brought America to its knees yet, but I see evidence of that happening all around us. It's sad and embarrassing to watch the contortions the mainstream media and our government officials go through to avoid saying what the Tsarnaev brothers posted in the social media: they are (and were) Muslims and they want (and wanted) to wage violent jihad on nonbelievers (also known as 'infidels') and apostates (also known as 'moderate Muslims').

Please forgive me if you've noticed more than a touch of frustration at what I see happening in our nation. We have already forgotten a great lesson from our own recent history: it's more important to be 'correct' than 'politically correct.' The Bible warns that a nation that has been given great light from God, and rejects it, will be given a mind, by God, that cannot even think in its own best interest. That's a perfect definition of 'political correctness.' And that's what's happening in America right now. 

But you may be asking yourself a very legitimate question: why are otherwise smart people so confused about Islam? Many Muslims, and not so many non-Muslims, seem to genuinely believe that it's a "religion of peace." That's because there is a dramatic contradiction within the foundations of Islam itself. Once you understand this contradiction, you will be able to see the danger Islam poses for the rest of the world as a whole and for each of us individually. 

I'm going to show you some of those contradictions this week and, hopefully, help you understand why Islam, by its very structure and history, cannot be a "religion of peace," but must be just the opposite: a religion of hatred, violence, and war. 

Syrian President Bashar Assad tells an international peace envoy to Syria that he will win even if Damascus is destroyed

As the Syrian civil war continues to intensify, Bashar Assad - the defiant Syrian president - continues to hold on to power and command his military to destroy the opposition trying to overthrow the Syrian government.

Over 65000 Syrians have been killed in this civil war and the opposition is moving closer and closer every day to Damascus, the stronghold for the Assad regime.

Bashar Assad said recently that even if Damascus is destroyed, he as president of Syria would continue to fight on and would eventually win out in the final solution.

The brash statements by Syrian President Bashar Assad that even if the opposition of his government destroys the city of Damascus that he would still win in the end which is in contradiction of Bible prophecy.

The civil war in Syria has seen over 65000 people killed as they endeavor to bring down the Assad government which is a horrific price to bring down a man whose family has controlled Syria for over fifty years. With each and every day of fighting, the opposition forces draw closer and closer to Assad's stronghold in Damascus and these opposition forces are threatening to destroy the city of Damascus. Defiantly, Bashar Assad said recently that even if Damascus is destroyed, he would prevail and he would win the civil war. Assad's statement that he would win in the long run even if Damascus is destroyed is a contradiction to political wisdom and to the prophetic word.

The ancient Jewish prophet Isaiah wrote 2500 years ago that Damascus would be destroyed. The phrase in Isaiah 17, "in that day" indicates that the prophecy will be fulfilled in the last days, a period of time very close at hand. When you notice Daniel 11:40 where it mentions the King of the North, you can conclude from Daniel 11:5-20 that the King of the North is modern day Syria. Daniel 11:40 says at the time of the end, and that's our day, Syria will indeed be destroyed. Damascus is the major city of Syria and it could very well be destroyed by the Syrian opposition forces who want Assad out of power.

Politically, it looks as if Damascus is about to be destroyed, prophetically however it is absolute, Damascus will be destroyed.

Less than ten percent of all born again Christians have a Biblical world view

George Barna, a pollster with an independent marketing research company, found in a recent survey that only 4% of the overall population of America and 9% of born-again Christians have a biblical world view, suggesting that many of the nation's moral and spiritual challenges are directly attributable to this fact.

For the purposes of the research, a biblical world view was defined as believing that absolute moral truth exists, that such truth is defined by the Bible, and that the Bible is accurate in all of its teachings.

A biblical world view based upon understanding Bible prophecy is essential for an understanding of the times we live in today.

Let's look at the provision in scripture for a biblical world view. All scripture is God breathed. That means it's inspired and is profitable for doctrine, for correction, and instruction in righteousness, that's II Timothy 3:16. God gave the scriptures to the Jew to preserve and communicate to mankind, Romans 3:1-2. And thus, we have His written Word for us today. Our blessings and understanding comes from God's provision of His heart, His mind, His thoughts in written form, the Bible.

Now, let's look at the priority for studying a biblical world view. The Apostle Paul wrote that we must study the Word of God, a workman that need not be ashamed, relying on God's Word for all of life's questions. We must rightly divide the Word of truth, the Bible, to ascertain its true meaning. These two principles, study and rightly dividing the Word of God, are instruction for the End Times and they come from Paul's exhortation to young Timothy found in II Timothy 2:15.

Finally, let's look at the prophetic scenario of a biblical world view. A study of Bible prophecy reveals the scenario for the Last Days with a seven year period of judgment in our world followed by the return of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, to establish His Kingdom here on earth. However, preceding that seven years of judgment, those who are true born again Christians will be taken out of this world to be with Jesus Christ, that's the Rapture.

Allowing the Bible to form our world view prepares us for these future events and gives us evidence as to how close they may be.

The Iraqi people who were under the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein believe their present prime minister is becoming another dictator

Key political factions in war torn Iraq have accused their present prime minister Nouri Maliki of becoming a dictator and setting in place a governmental system similar to that of the late Saddam Hussein who ruled the Iraqi people with an iron fist in a decade long dictatorship.

Anti US Shiite cleric Muqtada Sadr who leads one of Iraq's political parties has accused Prime Minister Maliki of trying to either delay or actually cancel the next Iraqi election and lead the country under a dictatorship similar to the style of the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

A return to an Iraqi dictatorship like the one under Saddam Hussein is a precursor for the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

For over a decade, Saddam Hussein led the Iraqi people as a strongman dictator and he gave the orders for thousands of his own people to be killed because they refused his leadership. Muqtada Sadr, a radical Islamic cleric who has a large militia under his leadership as well as a political party that Sadr heads, wants to bring down the Maliki government thus the reason for accusing Maliki of being a dictator.

This scenario fits the prophetic passages in God's Word that reveal a period of time in the future when Iraq will once again be under a dictatorship according to Revelation 18 and 13:16-17. These passages indicate that dictator will be the Antichrist, the Satanically energized personality of the Tribulation Period. Modern day Iraq, a war torn nation today, will indeed rebuild and be known as Babylon, that's its biblical name, and it will become the economic, political, governmental capital of the world that rules under the dictatorship of the Antichrist. The ancient Jewish prophets reveal that after Babylon comes back to power it will be destroyed, Isaiah 13-14, Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 16.

A move towards a dictatorship in Iraq today is indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

The perception in the Middle East is that the American superpower status is in decline

The perception in the Middle East and the Arab World is that the United States of America, supposed leader of the free world and international superstar, is becoming weaker according to Avi Gil who is a senior fellow at the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute, who also said that America no longer leads as it once did but now follows or leads from behind.

The United States has called for Israel to withdraw from land that is Biblically, historically, and strategically essential for the very existence of the Jewish state among the Arab-Islamic nations in the Middle East which would put the Jewish state in harm's way.

With America's superpower status in decline and the rising power of the radical Arab Islamic world, we can now see better the end of times scenario that can be found in Bible prophecy.

 

The America that we knew 10 to 15 years ago is no longer at the peak of the pedestal as a world superpower and even the Arab Muslim world recognizes this as the case for America politically and economically.  Much of the way that Israel is perceived is directly dependent upon its relationship with America.  This report begs the question, where is the United States in Bible prophecy?  Is it a superpower in the last days or not there at all?

The United States is not mentioned by name anywhere in Bible prophecy but it seems to refer to the United States and in fact all nations in Zechariah 14:2 when the ancient Jewish prophet wrote that at the end of the seven year Tribulation period, all nations will gather in Jerusalem.  But before that, the superpower will be the Antichrist, the world dictator who will control a one world economic, political, and governmental system from Babylon in modern-day Iraq.

This is foretold in Revelation 18.  Under the leadership of Satan, Antichrist, and the False Prophet, this massive body of people will confront Jesus Christ as He returns to the Mount of Olives and then after the Battle of Armageddon, goes into the Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem to set up His kingdom (Zechariah 6:12-13).

 

Perception has become fact as America continues to decline in leadership and character in our world today.  The prophecies of God's Word will indeed be fulfilled.

Israeli PM Netanyahu tells newly arriving Jewish immigrants that they are the protectors of the Jewish future

Recently, a planeload of over 350 Jewish immigrants arrived in Israel to be welcomed by the prime minister who told these Jews they would be the protectors of the future for the Jewish people and actually the Jewish state of Israel.

The Chairman of the Jewish Agency, Natan Sharonsky, himself an immigrant from Russia, said it was tremendously moving to see hundreds of new immigrants disembarking from the plane to become Israelis who will strengthen the future of Israel.

Hundreds of new Jewish immigrants arriving in Israel recently were welcomed by the prime minister and told they are the protectors of the future for the Jews, a statement that can be confirmed by Bible prophecy.

The modern day state of Israel is made up of Jews from 108 nations of the world that arrived in Israel over the last 100 years who have returned to the land of their forefathers. The establishment of the Jewish state after 2000 years without a structured nation of people in their homeland has been applauded by many world leaders. In fact, most of these leaders believe it was a miracle to see a people scattered across the world come together to form a modern day state. However at the same time, in the Middle East there has risen a group of nations, the Arab nations that reject the right of the Jews to have a state in the land of their forefathers. Israeli PM Netanyahu was correct when he greeted these new immigrants with the statement that they will be the protectors of the future for the Jewish people and the Jewish state.

Bible prophecy actually does confirm the prime minister's statement. The ancient Jewish prophet Ezekiel foretold of a day when Jews would be gathered from all over the world back into the land of their forefathers, Ezekiel 37:7 and 34. Ezekiel 37:8 says that not only would the Jews return to their land, but they would be restored as a nation in that land in the last days. Ezekiel 35 reveals that the Palestinian people would rise up to kill numbers of those returning Jews and try to take their God-given land. Ezekiel 38 tells of a coalition of nations that will try and wipe the Jewish state off of the map.

As Prime Minister Netanyahu said to those returning Jews to Israel, they will indeed play a role in Israel's future.

A terrorist group has warned Israel: Harm al-Aqsa Mosque and we will open the 'Gates of Hell

The popular resistance, one of a number of Palestinian terror groups in the Middle East has threatened Israel that if there is any harm to al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem they will open the 'Gates of Hell' against  the Zionist enemy.

The terrorist group said that the Islamic nations have started waking up and are ready to meet their religious commitments towards Palestine and al-Aqsa. The former Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Sabri, says even the Western Wall is not Jewish but belongs to the Muslims and any attack by the Jews on the al-Aqsa Mosque will endanger the safety and stability of the entire Middle Eastern region.

A threat by a Palestinian terror group that if the Jews harm the al-Aqsa Mosque, they will open the 'Gates of Hell' against them is a page out of Bible prophecy for the end of times.

For over 1300 years the Temple Mount in Jerusalem has been a focus of the Islamic world. Though it is the third holiest site in Islam after Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia, Jerusalem is an honored site that the Muslims want as the location for their worldwide kingdom, a caliphate. However, the Palestinian terror group is warning they will open the 'Gates of Hell' against anyone who harms al-Aqsa. Muslims could put millions of martyrs on the Temple Mount to fight off any Jewish effort to remove al-Aqsa so they can construct a Jewish Temple on the site.

This scenario is foretold in Bible prophecy and will be played out in the future. Zechariah 12:2 reveals that the Temple Mount will be at the center of controversy in the last days. Malachi 1 reports that descendants of Esau, the Palestinian people of today, will try and rebuild their national power base in Jerusalem. Ezekiel 35:5, 10 speak of a time when the Palestinians will kill the Jews and take the land, i.e. the Temple Mount, that God has given to the Jewish people. Obadiah 18 foretells of the Jews defeating the Palestinians when the Messiah, Jesus Christ returns to Jerusalem.

Jesus Christ will build a Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount, Zechariah 1:16 and no Palestinian terror group will open the 'Gates of Hell'.
