'The Hal Lindsey Report' One, that times of persecution (and legal prosecution) are headed our way.

If you've watched "The Hal Lindsey Report" over the last few weeks, you've noticed that I've hit hard and often on two ideas. One, that times of persecution (and legal prosecution) are headed our way. Two, that the reason for that persecution will be our insistence on pressing the claim of Jesus Christ that He is the only way to salvation and heaven. 

As we see the demonic spirit of "political correctness" take firmer hold on all areas of our society, I'm convinced that the decision by true Christians to stand up for Jesus on certain issues and claims will spark an onslaught of derision and discrimination against us. I think those defining issues will include abortion, same sex marriage, parental rights, and the role of God in our national life. 

Most importantly, though, I believe it will all come down to the name of Jesus. Already, our military, our schools, our courts, and our governments (we lost the entertainment industry and our universities long ago) are in a mad dash to eliminate any vestige of religious recognition, much less freedom. However, it seems to be only Christ-centered traditions that are being banished. Islam, humanism, and other religions are, in fact, being celebrated and encouraged in ways Christianity never has. 

Just as Jesus Himself warned, the dividing line in the last days will be the name of Jesus. He said that because the world hated Him, it will hate us. He cautioned that true, and faithful, believers will be persecuted "for My name's sake." (John 15:21) 

Over the last few weeks, I've shown you myriad examples of how this exact situation is developing right here in the United States -- and inside some of our most trusted institutions. As a "watchman on the wall," my calling is to declare what I see coming so that you can prepare yourself and your family for those days. 

But that preparation should not be haphazard or random. If we are to remain strong in the coming days, months, and years, we must be standing on a firm foundation. To be able to unflinchingly press the claims of Christ in this hostile world, we must make every effort to understand the man who made those claims. 

To fully appreciate who Jesus Christ is, we must first understand WHY there needed to be a Jesus Christ. There was a reason for God's provision of a savior and a reason for the path He chose for our redemption. I'll begin this week with an explanation of "Why God Had to Become a Man." 

Then we'll start an examination (which I'll continue next week) of "The Man God Became." 

The majesty, the beauty, and the sheer complexity of the concept of the God-Man Jesus Christ is almost overwhelming. But it was all necessary to redeem the creation lost to sin at the fall of Adam. Thank God that He loved us so much He provided a "second Adam" to unselfishly take our place. And thank you, Jesus, for being willing to bear our sins upon your sinless shoulders so that we may be partakers of your eternal glory. 

The US Congress is funding a hate mechanism called the Palestinian Authority

Itamar Marcus: We met with members of Congress and we were showing them what was happening with American funding of the Palestinian Authority. The US has good intentions. They are hoping to build infrastructures of the PA because they are hoping that it will then be able to create a peaceful state, but what we were documenting, and we were showing them that they are also paying for TV programs where you have little children on TV saying that Christians and Jews are inferior and despised and it calls for the Muslim world to literally counter the Jewish and Christian world to defeat the Jewish and Christian world and I am talking about children's programs.

The minister of prisoners of the PA visits every week with some of the families of prisoners who have killed dozens of Israelis and he honors those prisoners, he calls them heroes and who is paying his salary, the PA, who is paying them money for that, the US. The US with all of its good intentions is actively funding a hate mechanism called the PA, a terror promoting and glorifying mechanism called the PA and Congress is now being made aware of this and the question is what to do about it so it can really have an impact and change the PA.

You could go to a number of passages in Scripture: Malachi 1, the little book of Obadiah, Jeremiah 49 and find out about this scenario, but speaking to the issue most distinctly is Ezekiel 35 which reveals that the Lord will judge the Palestinian people for killing Jews, verse 5 and in verse 10 for taking their land.

This is the present day scene in Israel and as the US Congress continues to fund hate and terrorism being perpetrated upon the Jewish people by the PA, the stage is being set for end time prophecy to be fulfilled.

Al Qaeda is calling for Jihad, a holy war

Dr. Al Zawari who is the head of Al Qaeda is calling for a Middle Eastern Jihad, a holy war, and he wants the Islamic world to join him in this battle. Ken Timmerman covers geo-politcal activities for us and he is in Washington, DC with this report.

Ken Timmerman: It is actually a bit funny because Zawari is trying to divert attention from the failure of Al Qaeda in Syria to overthrow Assad and at the same time in this statement he is throwing stones at the Iranians who in the past have been his biggest supporters. Zawari was the man who along with Imad for the Iranians who solidified the Al Qaeda-Iran connection back in the 1990's.

He has historically been the leader in Al Qaeda who has promoted a Sunni-Shia healing process, a unity between Sunnis and Shias and now in fact he is breaking off from that, he is accusing the Iranians of trouble making in Syria and he has essentially joined Yousef Kawadowi, the Palestinian preacher on Al Jazeera who called for a Jihad against Iran and Syria just last week. So, calling for holy war against Israel is just his way of patching up this increasing Sunni-Shia divide trying to divert attention from that and focus it on the Muslims traditional whipping boy.

A call for holy war in the Middle East by Al Qaeda is a precursor to the end time prophetic scenario that is found in Bible prophecy.

There will be a Jihad in the future, a holy war across the entire Middle East and it will focus on the Jewish state of Israel. Ezekiel 38, Daniel 11, and Psalm 83 are the prophecies pertaining to this holy war. This will be an alignment of Islamic states to attack the Jewish state of Israel and only God will be able to save the Jewish people, Ezekiel 38:18-39:6.

As we look at the Middle East according to the report from Ken Timmerman on our broadcast today, we can understand where we are in God's time. All the actors are in place and any student of Bible prophecy can recognize that the curtain is about to go up for that final drama.

In the Middle East with this call for Jihad, a holy war, the stage is set for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

MAN RETIRES EARLY TO AVOID BIO-METRIC SCANNING

A recent report involving a mining company in Western Pennsylvania has caused a stir among the Evangelical Christians in the area. The company was requiring all of its employees to begin using a bio-metric scanning system that would track them on the job.  One miner, Beverly Butcher Jr., refused the hand-scan because he believes it is part of the Mark of the Beast system, identified in Revelation 13:18.  The prophecy speaks of men not being able to buy or sell, unless they have the mark, the name, or the number of the beast. 

    The Bio-metric scanners are a scanner where the right hand is used and the scanner reads the lines on the right hand, giving each line a number.  When the hand is placed again on the scanner, the scanner is able to match the lines with the number and assures it is the person being scanned.   These types of scanners are being used in Disney theme parks where the hand scan places matches the personal information on a plastic card used to access the parts and purchase food or novelty items.  If the hand scan does not march the information on the card, then the card cannot be used, as it is assumed the card was stolen – or belongs to another person.  The idea behind the process is to avoid fraud or stealing the cards from another person and running up a bill. These scanners are also used in many banks when entering the safety deposit box area.  The person owning the box must have their social security number, and the scan must match the identified person, each time they access the box.

     In the case of Butcher, he felt this system was too close to the system to emerge with the future Antichrist system.  It was pointed out to the Consul Energy Company where Butcher had worked for 35 years, that two miners with missing fingers were given an alternative method to access the mining company.

     Because of Butcher’s religious belief and his refusal to access the hand scanner, he was forced into early retirement.  The Equal Opportunity Employment Commission filed a law suit against the energy company stating that Butcher’s religious rights had been violated.

     This will be an interesting case, as in Canada and with certain business in the States, owners are moving toward these types of scanners and in a few instances, are demanding employees to have an implanted chip in their right hand, to track their whereabouts. Three Canadian Pentecostals filed a suit against their company as they refused to receive this chip implant for religious objections and won their suit in the Canadian Supreme Court, who allowed instead a chip to be placed in a plastic card, which served the same purpose as the implanted chip.

     These cases should be observed as in some instances the person is threatened with being fired for resisting the company’s new policy.  While the Bio-scanner may not be the Mark of the Beast, the Beast technology is certainly on the rise and this issue is important for those who know and understand Bible prophecy.

'The Hal Lindsey Report' ,Rush Limbaugh statements

You may love him or hate him, but you cannot deny that Rush Limbaugh animates the national conversation. Because of his weekday on-air monologues, we have terms such as ""drive-by media," "feminazi," "the Ninth Circus Court of Appeals," "low-information voters," and "state-run media" in the American lexicon. 

Rush Limbaugh can take a great deal of the credit for energizing conservative thought and action on the national political scene. He has the distinction of being the face the Left visualizes when it refers to the "vast right-wing conspiracy." According to the President, it would seem that Limbaugh, along with Fox News and George W. Bush, are the causes of the woes that seem to dog his administration. 

Limbaugh came of age in the Ronald Reagan era. He has always seemed convinced that "morning in America" is coming soon. But maybe not Jesus. 

Now by and large, I usually agree with what Rush Limbaugh says. And I always appreciate his political insight. He has an uncanny ability to identify the issue and articulate a conservative response. 

However, in August he seemed to lose a bit of his grip on his optimism. He made a statement that struck a chord in me. Limbaugh said, "Every generation of people has among them a sizeable percentage who think they're in the last days. Every generation has a sizeable percentage of people who believe that times have never been worse." 

Now, I think that both statements are probably true. But I think that believing we're in the "last days" is not the same as believing that "times have never been worse." That linkage misses the point entirely. 

We believe we're in the "last days" because God gave us certain identifying markers that would all arise in concert just before those days, not simply because "things have never been worse." 

There have been plenty of times in the history of this world when things have literally "never been worse." Some of you who are reading these words have lived through those dark days of world war and world depression. Yet Jesus has yet to return to claim His bride. 

So bad circumstances and dark days aren't necessarily the indicators of the "last days." Don't make the mistake that Rush's statement implies he has made. Instead, do as Jesus Himself recommended -- actually, commanded -- we do. Learn to recognize the "signs" of the end times. And there are very specific indicators of the approach of those days. 

This week, I want to make sure we're all on the same page regarding those indicators. 

Rush Limbaugh made another statement, though, with which I wholeheartedly agree. Among other observations, he noted, "There is a genuine transformation coming over this country.... There is a fog of depression that's just permeating everything. Everyday life just doesn't feel right, even among people who ought to be robustly happy by past standards." 

He's right. But I would add that it doesn't "feel right" because it isn't right. The world is askew and getting worse. Something's wrong and deep inside everyone knows it. 

But true believers and followers of Jesus Christ aren't surprised by this because our Lord warned us these days were coming, and He told us how to recognize them. But He also told us that when we see these days arrive, we should be encouraged, not depressed. In fact, He said, "Lift up your heads!" because our time of liberation and triumph is drawing near. 

Only faith in Jesus and confidence in God's immutable promises can turn Rush Limbaugh's lament into a reason to rejoice. 

So rejoice! It won't be long now. 

As world leaders work for peace in the Middle East the current peace agreements are unraveling

World leaders in America, Europe, Russia, and the Middle East are working to bring about a peace in the Middle East even as three peace agreements between Israel and their neighbors are actually unraveling and may not be in effect for very long.

The Camp David Accords, a peace agreement between Israel and Egypt, is almost a thing of the past with the present situation in Egypt as is the case with the peace treaty between Israel and Jordan with most Jordanians wanting to dissolve that treaty.

The Oslo Accords, a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, has never been normalized and is not a working agreement because the radical Islamists among the Palestinians have no regard for the treaty and in fact are calling for an armed struggle to eliminate the Jewish state.

With three different peace agreements between Israel and her neighbors in place the Middle East peace process is in bad shape but it will be rescued according to Bible prophecy.

In 1979, Israel and Egypt signed the Camp David Accords, the first peace treaty that Israel ever signed with an enemy state. The Palestinians and the Israelis also came to an agreement on peace in 1993 with the Oslo Accords. In October of 1994, the late King Hussein of Jordan and the late Yitzhak Rabin prime minister of Israel, both signed a peace treaty between the two nations. What is common with all of these peace agreements is that they never have been normalized. Even the peace envoy for the Quartet, which is the US, EU, UN, and Russia, Tony Blair has not been successful in bringing about peace. However, I must remind you that Bible prophecy does call for a world leader to come on the scene who will be successful in putting a peace treaty in place that he will make work.

Daniel 9:27 says that the Antichrist will confirm a treaty between Israel and her neighbors. I did not say he will sign a treaty, but instead confirm, strengthen, make stronger, make the treaty work. In order for this to happen, there must be a peace treaty or three peace treaties on the table not working. The Antichrist will confirm them.

The world is watching to see what Israel thinks about Iranian President Rouhani's charm offensive and US President Obama's outreach to the Iranians

Israeli PM Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly at a time when President Rouhani has turned on his charm offensive to show the world that Iran really wants peace, however the Israelis do not believe the Iranian leader. Prophecy Today broadcast partner David Dolan has much more insight on Israel's concern about the Iranian situation.

David Dolan: I've talked to Israeli leaders over the years, over the last ten years at least about this topic a number of times. They've always said, all of them including Netanyahu and more right winged leaders like him that negotiations are the preferred method if negotiations can succeed in causing the Iranian regime to stop its nuclear Uranium enrichment program then God bless it. They would be happy for that. They're not looking for a war with Iran.

So, on the one level the Israeli leaders are saying well, good luck you know, go for it, but if that means at the same time that they're beginning such a process with what are seen as inordinate concessions and just meeting with these people and talking with them in a normal way is almost a concession because they have for so many years stonewalled the West and the US and the UN and the Atomic Energy Agency and they've lied and they've cheated. So they have a lot to answer for and that's all I think the Israeli leadership now is saying is okay talk but be cautious and don't overstate things. If they're going to really reduce their Uranium enrichment process or even end it then great, but let's see some actual proof that there's a real turn here and not just a new guy on the block who has a nice suit and he talks nice.

The new relationship between US President Obama and Iranian President Rouhani seems to be placing Israel in a position of isolation as described by the ancient Jewish prophets.

With both President Obama and Iranian President Rouhani moving closer together it seems that it is isolating the Jewish state of Israel. The ancient Jewish prophets wrote 2500 years ago of this type of scenario for the last days. Daniel, Ezekiel, Micah, Jeremiah, and many other prophets also spoke in their prophetic books of the world turning against the Jewish state of Israel in the last days.

World leaders are making decisions daily that indeed are setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
