urgent news out of Iran

We have just received news reports today regarding the life of Christian pastor, Youcef Nadarkhani. The Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei will personally decide the fate of Pastor Nadarkhani.
The step to involve the most powerful leader in Iran is unusual and demonstrates that Iran is feeling pressure from the international community – pressure from you.
Keep the pressure on Iran by signing our petition immediately. There is still time to make a difference.
According to Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani’s Iranian lawyer, the court delayed issuing a verdict and “has decided to ask the opinion of Mr. (Ali) Khamenei.”Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is an Islamic jurist and the final arbiter of questions of Shariah law.
Now that Iran’s Supreme Leader will be considering the case, it is imperative that our top diplomat, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, personally intervenes in working for Pastor Youcef’s unconditional release.
We are hand-delivering this petition to Secretary Clinton the moment the State Department opens its doors tomorrow morning. It is not too late to add your name to the list of over 127,000 people who have already signed this petition online.Pastor Youcef’s life hangs in the balance; please sign today.
When you sign this petition or ask your friends to sign this petition, know that you will be joining Christian groups around the world, the White House, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, a large bi-partisan group of Congressman, and several presidential candidates for office in calling for Pastor Youcef’s release.
Please add your voice today by signing our petition. If you have already signedplease send it to your friends by forwarding this email, and by sharing it on Facebook and Twitter.
Thank you for your continued support for Pastor Youcef. The ACLJ will continue to do everything we can to fight for Pastor Youcef’s life.
